As we have decided to share our fishing experiences and information with you we find it important to also share both new and old products that we think are worth mentioning. Some products are brought to us and others we find ourselves. We hold back no opinion and it should be noted that the opinion shared is the only one that matters; however, it might not be accurate and may not match your opinion. Please feel free to discuss your thoughts on our message board. All of your thoughts are welcome. Just remember, we’re right and your wrong. Just kidding but thanks for playing along.
Please note that we are not affiliated, paid or in anyway benefiting from the success or loss of any of these products. These reviews are simply our thoughts intended in assisting you in the great experience of fishing.
Fishin’ Finger
The first product that we are going to review is the Fishin’ Finger. This was not the first product we had the pleasure of using but it was the product that had the most impact on our fishing experience. The Fishin’ Finger was spoke about on a few blogs and message boards prior to our receiving it. We wrote the company in hopes of having a chance to try the product before its release and were gifted with a quick response. It wasn’t long after sending my address to Fishin’ Finger, which can be found at www.fishinfinger.com, that the Fishin’ Finger arrived in my mailbox. So we had it in our hands, and I would say at last but it wasn’t that long of a wait so it came sooner than I had anticipated delaying my ability to try it out. Needless to say I did get that chance to try it out as did my partner here at Oregon Fish Finder and what we quickly found ourselves saying was “why didn’t we think of that.” The product came without packaging which I was warned of prior to its arrival. Fishin’ Finger was still designing packaging for it and I was a little impatient so I asked for it to be shipped without the packaging. I took it out of the shipping wrap and starter to think that it seemed a little weak. So I tried to tear it, and thank god I couldn’t… had I, that would have ended my chances of using my new toy. The first thing that got me a little down was the label on the product itself. I am confident that the label will be changed prior to it’s release as it came off as cheap and hokey. Still I moved forward in giving it the chance it deserved. I placed it on my belt with the handy clip that it comes with. I practiced sliding it on my thumb and pulling the fish out of the water similar to the air guitar but I call it the ‘Fish Grab.’ I was very impressed as I released it from my thumb and it returned to my belt. Now this can be worn anywhere convenient for you but for me on my belt seemed to work best. So I had officially done all I could with my new toy so I tossed it in my tackle box and left it for my fishing trip. The next day I lucked out and caught five as did my wife along with her 30 inch trout. Obviously this was what the Fishin’ Finger was intended for; okay maybe not trout but let me tell you something, No Cuts!!! I’m not sure if you have ever had the pleasure of having a trout cut you open because you decided to thumb it rather than grab it by the belly. Well I’ve got great news, no more worries. The Fishin’ Finger is freak’n awesome. That’s it, just awesome. I think that it can use a few small tweaks like some support metal near the ring were it attaches to the lanyard and like I said before a more professional label but besides that it’s perfect. This is a product that will be on every shelf. As much as I hate to say it I must; my bet is you will soon be able to find it on Wal-Mart shelves everywhere. Listen, if your not sure where to grab a fish do me one favor. Don’t hurt yourself, pick up a Fishin’ Finger and shove your thumb in the fishies mouth, it’ll work every time and you’ll be less likely to hurt the fish if you plan on releasing it. So that’s what we think, and we are right but feel free to tell us what you think on the message board. |
